OWH Sketch # 218

Operation Write Home Sketch Challenge #218

Hello!  What a lovely sketch this week at Operation Write Home.  It took me a while to piece this one together, but I love the bold colors.

Here's the sketch:

218

and here's my version:

The balloons are from Cricut's Birthday Bash cartridge.
The paper is Recollections
Happy Birthday is a dollar store stamp
I also used the Happy Birthday and Polka Dot Cuttlebug folders

I love bold colors for birthday and kids!

Hope you have a great week!

Diane

Hey there, Chickie!

Hey there, chickie!  Card

Hello!

I hope you are having a great week.  Mine is very busy with the kids home for Spring Break.  We're off to take a mini vacation tomorrow, so I wanted to post this card before leaving.

I combined a few ideas for this card.  Operation Write Home's Sketch Challenge #217 and their Midweek throwdown Color Challenge (Purple and Yellow), along with Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog's #203 Bye, Bye, Birdie and Exploring Cricut's Crafter's Choice - 1 Design Paper, 1 Cardstock challenge.

The sketch:

217

My card:

The chick cut is from Create A Critter Cricut cartridge, and the faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps.
The Design paper is from Michael's and the rest of the supplies are from my stash.

I hope you have a wonderful week and are looking forward to some Spring weather. We, unfortunately, can't get above 30 degrees.

God Bless,

Diane

I ran the white card stock through the Big Shot with a Cuttlebug polka dot folder.
The Design Paper is from an old Bazzill Paper pack.
I colored the image with watercolor pencils.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

FCCB #201 - Sketch

This week's Fantabulous Cricut Challege Blog #201 is a sketch

I learned to pay attention to the sketch with this card.  Let me show you what I mean...

Here is the sketch:

and here is my FIRST card

I originally stamped right on the design paper, but thought it looked awkward, so I added another layer.

Here's the SECOND version:

Then I realized this card didn't have all the elements of the sketch.... I had forgotten the border strip behind the circle in the sketch.

Here is my THIRD version:

I used smaller polka dots because the large dots just looked weird with all the layering.   Maybe not to you...

The elephant and circles are from Birthday Bash page 38.
I cut the elephant at 2 1/2"
I cut the circles at REAL DIAL SIZE Blue:2 1/2:  and red 2 3/4"
The circles on the elephant page were related to the Card/Tag for this cut, and sometimes they don't come out the size I want it to unless I use REAL DIAL SIZE.

So that is how my card evolved.

The third version is going to be entered into the FCCB sketch challenge.

Have a good weekend.  Stay warm!

God Bless,

Diane

OWH Challenge #215

Hello!  Today's Operation Write Home Sketch Challenge #215 came together quite nicely.

Here is the Sketch:

215

And here is my card:

I tried a stamp today, which is odd since I'm a Cricut gal, but I used February's Peachy Keen stamp of the month set to make this cute mailbox.  I don't have any markers, so I used watercolor pencils and blended them with a little water.  I'm thinking of getting some Spectrum Noir markers because I'm not sure how serious I am in coloring.  And Copics are way too expensive.

I'm off to see what everyone else has made for the challenge,

Take care and God Bless,

Diane

My New Favorite

A New/Old Favorite

I finally bought the Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge!!!  I know it's been around for a while, and may seem like old news to you, but it's new to me  and has become my new favorite cartridge.  I coupled it with Peachy Keen stamps to create this cute card.

I CASEd the card from one I saw on Pinterest.  The ice cream sundae came from the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge.  The faces are from Peachy Keen everyday faces stamps.

Thanks for looking!

God Bless,

Diane
